Logistic Officer

Job Summary

Once order requests or purchase orders are received, it is up to the Logistic Officer to manage the pulling and packing of materials and arrange appropriate transportation. Among the tasks that might need to be completed in this responsibility include freight consolidation, cost analysis, routing and scheduling. Logistic Officers must also track shipments to ensure they arrive on time and that shipment and delivery processes adhere to any pertinent regulations. Processing requests, keeping inventory, coordinating transportation and maintaining databases are among the duties fulfilled by a Logistic Officer.

Essential Duties

• Plan warehouses and distribution centres for efficiency in both operations and capacity
• Organise transportation activities, including storage of goods, managing information accrued from point of origin to delivery, orchestrating transportation movements, and arranging for services as necessary
• Coordinate and track movement of goods through logistic pathways
• Execute logistics plan to move products and packages to reach destinations on schedule
• Review freight rates and other transportation costs to keep working costs low
• Maintains quality throughout the logistic processes

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required.
• Should possess strong organizational, customer service and communication skills.
• Should be detail-oriented team players with the ability to multi-task and meet deadlines.
• Understanding of transportation limitations and regulations.
• Planning skills
• Should have Understanding of transportation issues
• Experience working in logistics preferred
• Knowledge of Microsoft Office applications, such as Word and Excel
