Job Summary

Manufacturing production manager is responsible for planning, coordinating and controlling an organisation’s manufacturing processes. He/she will ensure that resources are used effectively, costs are minimized, quality standards are maintained, and that the operation is conducted in a safe and environmentally conscious way. He/she will supervise production staff and liaise with people from different departments and suppliers.


Essential Duties

  • Establish and maintain quality systems for laboratory documentation, data security, sample management, in-process, finished product, and raw material testing, laboratory facilities, laboratory investigations, reagents and standards, training and documentation.
  • Write or, review and approve controlled documentation related to laboratory operations or testing such as, SOP’s, analytical protocols, analysis reports, forms, validation documents or technical documents originating in other departments.
  • Ensure compliance with DDA regulations and internal controlled substances security and reconciliation programs
  • Determine the need for new or additional equipment and staffing based upon production requirements. Prepare justification documentations for such additions       and Initiate and/or approve change control documents.
  • Evaluate key performance indicators for the purpose of improving laboratory efficiency, monitoring equipment performance, and performance of laboratory personnel and Communicate issues affecting staff.
  • Provide resources to support the stability program method validations, technical transfer, method transfer, and validation/qualification activities at the site and Authorize and approve expenditures for laboratory supplies and contract testing.
  • Participate in personnel decisions (interviewing, hiring, performance appraisals, promotions, termination, staff development, improvement plans) regarding subordinate staff.

Required Qualifications

  • Hold a degree in B.Pharm ( M.Pharm preferred)
  • Should have minimum 5 years of experience as Production Manager.
  • Proven Project Management skills.  Experience of leading change programmes, new product introduction and technical transfer a distinct advantage.
  • Effectively manage competing priorities, adaptable to change, demonstrate ability to accept additional responsibilities and working with and through others.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead and build effective, high performing teams.  Including ability to provide direction to employees, establish the overall objectives and resources available, broadly defines missions and functions to the team.  Capable of fostering teamwork and accountability.
