Job Summary

The Accountant maintains accurate accounting records in compliance with local laws and performs required financial controls and analysis.


Essential Duties

  1. Assist with ensuring accurate and timely monthly, quarterly and year end close.
  2. Assist with ensuring the financial records are maintained in compliance with local laws and accounting policies.
  3. Assist with ensuring compliance with local taxation laws and maintain appropriate documentation.
  4. Review, maintain, and prepare detailed journal entries, account reconciliations, and supporting schedules to the general ledger accounts as well as other controls required.
  5. Perform appropriate analysis of expenses ensuring accurate coding, adequacy of accruals, and resolve accounting discrepancies and irregularities.
  6. Integrate new accounting requirements into company policy and participate in implementation efforts for new accounting standards.
  7. Identify best practices and investigate root causes of fundamental issues and problems and recommend solutions.
  8. Document and analyze current accounting procedures. Identify opportunities to streamline and improve the accounting process and recommend more efficient procedures.
  9. Provide training to new and existing staff as needed.
  10. Ensure a timely year end audit by assisting with all aspects of audit deliverables and inquiries.
  11. Stock reconciliation and update in system.
  12. Co-ordinate with bank and vendors for foreign payments, update import purchases in system.
  13. Prepare timely fund flow statement and bank reconciliation.

Required Qualifications

  1. Two years professional relevant experience.
  2. BS/BA degree in Business, Accounting, Finance or related field or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  3. Progressive accounting experience in Manufacturing Industries is preferred.
  4. Knowledge of Letter of credit (LC) including various kinds of loans, advances and facilities required for imports deals.
  5. Knowledge of Accounting Software (Prior experience in Finpro, Masspro, Swastik preferred)
  6. Ability to perform several tasks simultaneously, organize and prioritize those tasks to meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  7. Effective presentation, documentation, and interpersonal skills with a team-oriented approach.
  8. Able to work cooperatively and collaboratively with all levels of employees, management, and external agencies to maximize performance, creativity, problem solving, and results.
  9. Able to resolve issues diplomatically.
  10. Strong work ethics, professional attitude and reliable.
  11. Strong problem-solving skills, research and resolution skills and data analysis.
  12. Ability to act and operate independently with minimal daily direction from manager to accomplish objectives.
  13. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel), email.
  14. Fluency in written and spoken English
