Description: KETOREST I.V./I.M. Injection is a clear colorless to pale yellow solution. It contains 30mg/ml of Ketorolac Tromethamine and it belongs to a group of medicines called Non-steroidal Anti-inflammatory Drug.
How KETOREST works?
Ketorolac Tromethamine is a Nonsteroidal Anti-inflammatory Drug (NSAID) that exhibits analgesic activity mediated by peripheral effects. The mechanism of action of ketorolac is not completely understood, but is believed to be related to prostaglandin synthetase inhibition.
Therapeutic Indication:
KETOREST is indicated for the short-term management of moderate to severe acute post-
operative pain. Treatment should only be initiated in hospitals. The maximum duration of treatment is two days.
Dosage and administration:
The injection should not be used for epidural or spinal administration.
Adults: The usual starting dose is 10 mg, followed by 10 to 30 mg every four to six hours as required. The maximum dose is 90 mg each day for non-elderly and 60 mg for the elderly, renally-impaired patients and patients less than 50 kg. The maximum duration of treatment should not exceed two days.
Children: KETOREST is not recommended for use in children under 16 years of age.
