Description: GENTAREST Eye/Ear Drops are sterile, preserved aqueous solution. It contains 0.3% w/v of Gentamicin base and it belongs to a group of medicines called Aminoglycoside Antibiotic.

How GENTAREST works?

Gentamicin is usually bactericidal in action. It acts by inhibiting protein synthesis in susceptible bacteria by irreversibly binding to 30S ribosomal subunits. In general, gentamicin is active against many aerobic gram-negative bacteria and some aerobic gram-positive bacteria.

Therapeutic Indication:

GENTAREST Eye/Ear drops are indicated in adults and children: 

• Treatment of superficial bacterial infections of the conjunctiva, cornea, eyelids, tear ducts and skin adjacent to the eye.
• Topical treatment of otitis externa caused by susceptible bacteria.

Dosage and administration:

Adults, including the elderly and children 

• Eye: Instill 1-2 drops into the affected eye every four hours or as directed by the physician.
• Ears: Instill 2-4 drops, 3-4 times daily into the affected ear or as directed by the physician.
